Biography
Akvile is a multi-media artist whose work explores the tension between chaos and order. Raised in a musical and artistic household, she creates abstract pieces that are both dynamic and deliberate. Utilizing acrylic and spray paint alongside upcycled vinyl records and music equipment, Akvile engages in a process of deconstruction and reconstruction—breaking apart the familiar to reimagine it in a new context.
As an immigrant who escaped the Cold War, relocating from Lithuania to North America, Akvile draws on themes of transformation and resilience. This act of transformation is both cathartic and intentional, reflecting a desire to disrupt the highly organized structure of daily life and shape disorder into cohesive expressions. Through this practice, she highlights the resilience of materials and ideas, giving discarded and damaged objects renewed purpose and extended life on canvas.
